False Allegations Against Dr. Emeka Rollas, MON: AGN Issues Official Reaction
Truth Over Falsehood: Setting the Records Straight on Allegations Against Hon. High Chief Emeka Rollas Ejezie (MON)
Our attention has been drawn to a recent publication circulating on various online platforms, which contains a series of unverified and misleading allegations against the person of Emeka Rollas Ejezie, MON, the outgoing President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
Ordinarily, Mr. Rollas would have ignored such fabrications, as his focus remains on completing his tenure with dignity and ensuring a smooth transition in the Guild’s leadership. However, for the sake of the public and the integrity of AGN, it is important to set the records straight.
1. On Financial Allegations:
The report falsely claims that Mr. Rollas collected funds from certain individuals without accountability. For the record, all financial transactions involving the Guild under his leadership have been duly documented, audited, and presented to the appropriate organs of the AGN. No personal funds or donations meant for the Guild have ever been misused or diverted.
2. On His National Honour (MON):
The Federal Government’s conferment of the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) on Mr. Ejezie was in recognition of his decades-long contribution to the Nigerian creative industry — not merely as an actor but as a nation builder, industry reformer, and advocate for the welfare of Nollywood practitioners. His record in repositioning the AGN speaks clearly for itself.
3. On Property Ownership and Lifestyle Allegations:
Mr. Rollas firmly refutes insinuations regarding property purchases or “frivolous trips.” His personal life and earnings, as a professional, businessman, and creative consultant, are transparent and separate from the Guild’s finances.
4. On AGN Leadership and Unity:
The outgoing President has always maintained an open-door policy in managing the Guild’s affairs. Appointments and recognitions during his tenure have been guided by due process, consultation, and the constitution of AGN. Any claims to the contrary are either politically motivated or borne out of personal grievances.
5. On the So-Called “Mini-AGN” and Other Activities:
The Actors Guild of Nigeria operates as a single, united body nationwide. The claim of a “mini-AGN” is entirely false and mischievous. Cultural and community events held across the country have always been designed to promote unity and cultural pride within the Guild, with records of all sponsorships and expenditures properly filed.
Mr. Rollas remains committed to the progress of the Guild and the larger Nollywood industry. He has served with passion, integrity, and an unflinching dedication to the welfare of Nigerian actors.
The public is therefore urged to disregard the malicious publication, which is clearly orchestrated to distract attention from the positive transformation and stability his administration has brought to the AGN.
Mr. Rollas extends gratitude to all well-meaning members, partners, and supporters who continue to stand for truth, transparency, and the growth of Nollywood.
Signed:
Amb. Cornell Udofia
Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the National President,
Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN)
