Actors Guild of Nigeria Holds National Congress – Commends Leadership, Condemns Disruptive Litigation, and Announces Postponement of Elections

The National Congress of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, has commended the National President, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, for his visionary leadership, transformative reforms, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of the Guild and the welfare of its members nationwide.

In a well-attended session comprising State Chairmen and National Executive Officers, Congress applauded Dr. Rollas for steering the Guild to enviable heights, promoting unity, professionalism, and credibility within the Nigerian film industry.

However, Congress expressed deep concern over the persistent disruptive activities of Mr. St. Maradona Johnson, who has continued to foment crises through multiple court actions aimed at destabilizing the Guild’s democratic processes. Congress strongly condemned his actions as detrimental to the peace, progress, and image of the Guild and resolved that further disciplinary sanctions will be considered in addition to his existing suspension.

Furthermore, in view of the ongoing litigation filed by Mr. Maradona Johnson at the Court of Appeal, and on the advice of the Guild’s legal team, Congress resolved that the forthcoming National Elections of the Actors Guild of Nigeria be postponed until the determination of the matter. This decision is to ensure strict compliance with judicial processes and to safeguard the Guild from any act of contempt or legal complications.

Congress reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty to the leadership of Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, and pledged continued support for his administration’s efforts to consolidate the Guild’s gains and uphold its integrity as the foremost association of professional actors in Nigeria.

The Guild urges all members nationwide to remain calm, law-abiding, and united as the leadership continues to navigate the current legal challenges with wisdom, fairness, and adherence to due process.
